Hard work provides zero guarantees, so the correct answer is ďnoĒ. Successful trading has more to do with your emotional control than anything else. Itís more like being a professional athlete, or a musician. Yes, you need to practice. Yes, you need to sit in front of a computer a certain amount of time looking at charts and making decisions. Yes, you need to continually learn and grow and adapt to the markets. But, there is no guaranteed paycheck at the end of the week or the end of the month. There is no guarantee that forex trading will be profitable 10 or 20 years from now. We may just be witnessing another Tulip Mania where people quit their jobs to trade tulip bulbs. That went on for decades, until it all went bust. What forex trading does have is the ability to scale. I could grow my trading income to many times what my salary job pays before I start affecting the markets with my trades. There is no way to do that with my job unless I become the CEO (not likely). Iím beginning to make more money trading than my job pays, but I donít feel as great about that as you might think. We tend to put more mental emphasis on what last happened. I may make $3000 one day, then give back $2500 the next day. The trick is to still feel good and feel successful even after the loss. If I feel bad and persist in feeling bad after the loss, I will just get more losses.

Many new people are joining in this market today. But whether forex is a hard work or smart work will depend on the trading skills and expertise of a trader. A foreign currency exchange trader can earn good money if he has patience, ability to maintain hard work and acquire knowledge and adapt his styles according to the changes in the market. All these can make forex as a smart work.
