10, 20 and 200 are most commonly used the reason is most of trader relly on the cross over of 10 and 20 MA and majority of new traders also choose this one to trade the reason is there are only few rules to follow that that make trading simple when chooe to trade with this cross over on the other hand MA 200 is widely used to figure out the trend.

10, 20, 50 are the most common and reasonable settings for Moving Averages. You can also try Exponential Moving Averages, which runs faster than MA and responds quicker to price. If the price is highly trending, then 10, 20, 50 wont make sense, and then you can use 3, 5, 10 as your settings. And these lines will be your support / resistance.

I think using big period of moving averages for long trading terms and using it only as movable support and resistance, MA200 or MA100 is a big period and if price closed above or below it but with a good filter with it to enter buy or sell. You can not depend only moving averages alone.
One thing traders must know about this moving averages is that it is not all settings that denotes supports and resistances, if you want it better, then you can use 200ema for support and resistance, but the lower value denotes trend.

Thank you for your importent information about moving average indicator setting. Before i do not know how to setting up this indicator. So it is very importent for every forex trader.
These all parameters have its own importance but we use the parameters according to our requirement and the type of trade for example we want to open a day trade or as scapler like only for 1 or two hours so you use 10 or 20 EMA and 10,20 SMA and if you enhance the trade timing like 12 hours or more then you use the large parameters like 200,250 SMA,EMA this is good techique for us as become a profitable trader.
I do not setting indicator. So it is very importent to learn this things. It is very importent for every forex trader. As i am a new forex trader so it is difficult for me.
So far I know these are really very common settings of Moving Average. Some traders like using Exponential over simple set up though. Thanks for this nice posting where you have mentioned all the important numbers of Moving Average.
