Arrow How long will you advice for demo practice?

The issue of how long one plays with the paper money before going life is an issue that a lot of traders have different views about. some traders recommend
6 months, some 3 months, some 2 months others 1 months and even 1 week. what is your take about this? if you do not have any advice probably cos you dont train people then share how long you demo traded before going life.

      Hi!

I have demo traded for 6 months, then I started a real live account with only $100, to get the "feelings" of trading with real live money. However, I did not stop demo trading, and I decided to take a "challenge" for between me and myself. I continued to trade the same strategy on my demo account, as on my real account, and I tried to spot the differencies in my "trading psychology". I recognized that when I was trading on a real account, and I lost some money, it was a really bad feeling compared to losing when demo trading. So I have learned a lot with this "mixed" trading strategy. I hope it will be helpful for you too. If you have any questions, just feel free to ask.

      Regards,
      Robert

How long one has to trade in a demo account before using a live account? This depends on the individual capacity in understanding the forex market and trading principles. The success in demo trading should not give over-confidence. Because the emotional part of trading is missing in demo trading as it involves only virtual money. Apart from demo trading participate in some demo trading contest. this will help you in comparing yourself with other traders.

The answer is very simple in fact.

You should always start with a demo account, but then, when should you make the transition?

When you feel ready for real trading... and when do you feel ready for real trading?

The answer is in fact very simple:

If you don't know if you are ready, then it's because you are not.

i will say used demo acc for 3 months, after that used some bonus money for around 2-3 months, then start with real money and with low deposit ( dont go with big amount at 1st time only)
As you sow, so shall you reap.

how long a person demo trades depends on individuality. Some learn faster than others. But generally with constant practices, one will be able to master the market movement for at least 3 months.

in my own opinion the amount of time to spend demo trading is purely individualistic,it also depends on the level of our success why demo trading, but on the average 3 months is ideal

it depends on you, you may take just 2 months on demo account to get ready for the real trading, and maybe you will need 1 year,
and for sure it depends on your time too
example, someone has no free time to practice everyday one demo account, but another one has free time to practice 8 hs daily, sure the 1st one needs more time than 2nd one

Prove yourself profitable for 2-3 or more consecutive months on a demo account then try it out on a small real account.

You're ready when you're profitable. Not the other way around
