Default A Review on Huawei mate 40 pro?

Huawei is a manufacturer that is quite active in launching products every year. Within a year, Huawei can launch several series of smartphones ranging from the Matepad series, Nova series, P series to the Mate series. Seeing the quality of each series, you could say the Mate series is the ultimate because it often has the best offal specifications compared to others. Last week Huawei officially launched the Mate series smartphone and one of them is the Mate P40 Pro. The following is a review.

    Design, Screen and Sound
Combining a large 19: 9 display and 2774 x 1344 resolution, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro's OLED screen is sharper than most other Smartphones as well as with 456 pixels at every inch. This part also looks striking from the front. 88 degree curves on either side hide the bezel to the left or right. Meanwhile, a thin black line is above and below the screen.

Apart from that Huawei has brought back the volume buttons, missing from the Mate 30 Pro, and there are also new stereo speakers that sound sharp. And also Disney +, Netflix, and Prime Video works on Huawei phones, and with those screens and speakers the display and sound will automatically be fantastic.

    Beautiful design
The design of the Huawei Mate 40 Pro is simply gorgeous. This smartphone body is made of glass and metal. The colors are slightly opaque which gives a classy impression. But when our smartphone body is tilted, we will find beautiful color gradations. Blend in blue and purple. The perfect combination for a top smartphone. As a sweetener, Huawei put a camera with a circular design on the middle side.

From the front, we will find a 6.7-inch Flex OLED 90Hz screen that is framed with a super thin bezel. The edges of the screen itself are slightly curved which gives it a sleek feel. For the selfie camera, Huawei has embedded a dual camera designed 'oval' in the top left corner. The shape is more pleasing to the eye than the small 'hole' design that many other premium smartphones adopt.

    Satisfactory performance
As a premium smartphone, Huawei has a Kirin 9000 processor plus 8 GB of RAM. Makes Mate 40 Pro able to run heavy games, such as Aspalt 8, at the highest graphics settings without any problems. Even though the field runs smoothly, the Mate 40 Pro's performance is lagging behind the OnePlus 8T and the iPhone 12. Based on the results of the 3D Mark Slingshot: Unlimited benchmarks, this smartphone is only able to score 7,827.

    A decent quad camera

Huawei doesn't mess around with cameras. They use the largest sensor ever in a smartphone, namely 50MP RYYB as the main camera. Because the average competitor's sensor is stuck at 48 MP. This sensor is also able to better capture greens and light thanks to the RYYB setting. While the other three camera lenses are 20 MP ultra wide, 12 MP telephoto, and 3D.

Although the design, camera and performance are quite good, unfortunately the Mate 40 Pro version faces problems in the software field. Because Huawei can't access the latest Android version from Google. So they still adopt Android version 11 instead of the latest. In addition, this smartphone is also not equipped with 'Google standard applications', such as Playstore, Youtube, Gmail, and so on. Huawei does make a dedicated app store, but it's less user-friendly. The reason is that there are advertisements in the app store that are camouflaged as a Download button.

    Advantages:
    Using a super processor

The Huawei Mate 40 Pro product is equipped with the latest processor from Kirin, the 9,000 series with a size of 5 nm. From a lot of comparative research between the Kirin 9,000 5 nm and Kirin 990 7nm processors, the results are spectacular. The performance of the Kirin 9,000 5 nm processor is far superior, especially when viewed from its performance when playing large games.

In addition, the Kirin 9,000 processor is also proven to have a much more efficient power consumption than the Kirin 990 7nm processor. So don't be surprised if news comes out tomorrow saying that the power consumption of the Huawei Mate 40 Pro smartphone is more efficient so that the battery doesn't run out quickly. The impact makes users charging less and less.

The 5nm size processor technology is a new technology in the smartphone world and was first used by Huawei. So this is one of the very good advantages of being used as a selling material for the Huawei Mate 40 Pro.

    Super fast charging capability The

Huawei P40 product is only equipped with fast charging capabilities of up to 40 watts. Meanwhile, the Mate 40 Huawei provides fast charging capability of up to 66 watts. A significant increase of more than 50 percent when compared to the fast charging capability of the P40. So, to charge the battery from zero to 100 percent, it definitely takes less than 60 minutes.

At least from paying attention to the specifications of the flagship smartphone, various abilities and interesting features will be shown, one of which is the fast charging capability which is faster than before. But when it comes to fast charging capabilities, it seems that to this day it is still held by Xiaomi because it has fast charging capabilities of up to 120 watts on the Mi 10 Ultra.

In the world of smartphones, the role model to this day is a product made by Apple, namely the Iphone. Every time Apple launches the latest Iphone series, within a few months there will be other manufacturers launching products with designs similar to the latest Iphone. However, the Mate series, including the Huawei Mate 40 Pro, seem to want to escape such an imitation scheme.

This can be seen from the camera design made using a circle formation. I think this design is unique and cool because it is made based on original ideas and does not completely copy other product designs. Well, this unique and new design can be used as material for sale, especially for those who are bored with the design of most smartphone cameras that mimic the iPhone design.
    Deficiency:
    Relatively expensive price.

According to the latest data, it is known that the Huawei Mate 40 Pro is sold in Europe at a price of USD 282,182.25 which, if converted into rupiah, is around RS 21,000,000. The price is high for a smartphone in my opinion. But if you think about it, this is actually quite reasonable because the specifications of the Huawei Mate 40 Pro are deliberately made better than the specifications of the Huawei P40 Pro. Coupled with the fact that the Huawei Mate 40 Pro uses the latest series processors with the most advanced technology, which is 5 nm in size. So it's not an exaggeration if the Huawei Mate 40 Pro is priced at up to twenty million.

Thumbs up A review on Huawei Mate 40 Pro

In the past five years, Huawei has imposed its prestige on the smart hoof market and gained respect among manufacturers not only for its control of a large part of the market but also thanks to the strength of its two flagship series, the P series, which focuses mainly on cameras and launches it in the first quarter of each year, and the Mate series that the company launches in the last quarter of each year and offers a pioneering and almost flawless phone that brings new technology to the market every time.

In 2016, the Mate 9 Pro brought the first fast charger, and in 2017 mate 10 Pro was the first phone to support AI technologies, and the Mate 20 brought reverse wireless charging technology.

The Mate 40 Pro is no less creative than its predecessors, combining elegant and luxurious design, as usual, with a fantastic large screen, dual stereo speaker, and one of the best cameras on the market. The phone's only weakness is its lack of Google services and apps; this may not be an actual problem for Chinese users, but it is undoubtedly the most significant problem any user can face any whereabouts, and if it were not for that vulnerability, mate 40 Pro would have been described as the perfect phone with confidence.

    • 66W fast charger
    • Plastic protective cover
    • USB-C wired speakers

    Design
Huawei gave its new phone a unique design that distinguishes it from other leading and stylish competitors, removing the Notch, which was owned by the Met 30, and replaced it with a large camera hole with two front cameras wide-angle, and the other normal. On the back, the company kept the camera frame in the form of a ring but made it more transparent and called space ring, saying that its design inspired it from the first black hole image as evidence of creativity and constant innovation - interstellar music in the background - and apart from the story behind that episode, it succeeded in making it easy to recognize its flagship phone from the background.

Huawei kept the screen highly curved on both sides at an 88-degree angle (waterfall screen), giving it more elegance and contributing to increased screen size without increasing the size of the phone. The curved screen is more beautiful than traditional screens, but many users do not like it because it is more fragile and prone to breakage, and you may experience color dispersion on the sides or even the problem of accidental touch no longer a problem.

The screen occupies a large area of metal side edges that you can barely feel; however, the company has been able to return the volume control buttons to the right edge after removing them last year and replacing them with touch buttons that allow volume control touching the screen twice. The power button is placed under the sound controls in its distinctive red color.

The company succeeded in including a second speaker where the earpiece operates and kept its infrared emitter side now owned by almost all Asian-origin phones. As for protection, the phone is covered with anti-shock glass and supports IP 68 for water and dust protection.

    curved phone screen
When all the leading phones now have a screen with an update rate of 120 Hz - except for iPhones - Huawei has decided to give Huawei Mate 40 Pro screen a 90 Hz update rate, which seems a little strange. Although the touch response rate has been updated to 240 Hz, its response speed is not the same as the lower onePlus 8T. Although the screen does not have the pixel density of the Galaxy Note 20, for example, the 2774×1344 resolution is very good at 456 pixels per inch.

Although it is not the best on all scales, the screen generally offers a genuinely excellent performance experience; combining its large and curved edges with its relatively high accuracy and average refresh rate makes it more than perfect for all tasks. The company allows its users to choose between high update rate or high resolution, or both, unlike Samsung, which has so far forced its users to choose between them.

    Camera
Huawei has equipped its new flagship phone with a three-way camera system consisting of the same primary sensor we saw in Huawei Mate 40 Pro, the largest sensor (in size rather than resolution), a smartphone so far gained 1/1.28 inches, 50-megapixel resolution, a 5X optically-installed secondary camera with a 12-megapixel sensor resolution, and the last 20-megapixel wide-angle camera. The company added a laser sensor to replace the fourth camera to give the cameras an asymmetrical shape and speed up the autofocus process and make it more accurate.

The primary camera takes advantage of its large sensor to give its images a natural sense of depth and isolation of the background naturally and professionally without the need to activate portrait mode and apply the poké pout software's effect. It allows the close-up camera almost visually up to 5x while maintaining the image's full resolution without losing any details, and also provides almost a hybrid of up to 10x and sometimes 15x while maintaining as much detail as possible in certain lighting conditions.

The last wide camera has limited visibility to only 100 degrees compared to 120 degrees on most competing phones, but in most circumstances, the quality of its images is very similar to those taken by the primary camera. This applies to the telephoto camera as well, as the company performed well in adjusting the cameras in an almost identical way.

The front camera produces excellent, detailed images, and the second camera, which occupies the extra space of the camera hole, is wide-angle and can be used for excellent group photos.

    Battery
Huawei Mate 40 Pro comes with a 4400mAh battery that guarantees you a full day of use without thinking about the charger. Thanks to the new, more efficient, and less energy-efficient processor, you can also extend battery life even further with a power-saving mode that adjusts settings to balance power consumption and deliver the best possible performance.

A 66-watt fast wired charger comes into the phone box, which can power the phone 40% in 10 minutes, 80% in 30 minutes, and the entire phone charge takes 55 minutes. The phone also executes fast wireless charging with up to 50 watts, which requires almost a full hour to charge the entire phone starting at 0%.

    Performance
The Kirin 9000, Huawei's first 5nm processing chip with a built-in 5G modem, is supposed to increase processor power and make it more energy-efficient. The Kirin 9000 chip overcame all competing segments in CPU performance tests and scored better than the SD 865 and SD+865. As for the performance of the DCU, it was unable to beat its Qualcomm competitors.

The phone comes with 8GB of RAM and allows a choice of 256/512GB of storage, which is more than enough for most users and unlikely to require any additional memory, but in any case, Huawei offers its own 256GB Nano Memory cards.

    Software
Despite the harsh sanctions on Huawei, which deprived its devices of Google's services and software, the company's effort in developing its app store lifts him. Huawei Mate 40 Pro comes with Android 10 and above it the user interface of Huawei UI 11, through which Huawei tried this year to offer alternatives to google services that it lacks, providing its applications for web browsing and maps as well as helping users to find the applications found on its appGallery store.

The phone does not deserve to belong to the Mate family if it does not bring new technologies and features every year, and Huawei Mate 40 Pro has never disappointed expectations, bringing in a host of simple new features that will improve the experience even more. You can now use hand gestures to perform actions such as flipping web pages or switching between photos, taking a screenshot, and even answering calls.

The phone has acquired a new generation of Always-On Display technology called Eyes-On Display, the latest technology does the same as the first technology of displaying time, notifications, and more, but the screen only lights up when you look at it. This technology works so accurately that you do not need to move your head to look at the phone if it is on your table or next to you, but all you have to do is look at the phone just at the tip of your eye to light up the screen automatically and the content you select.

Price of Huawei Mate 40 Pro
If it were not for the lack of A60 Pro for Google apps and services, it would have been a strong competitor to the latest flagship phones of 2020, but if Google apps do not interest you in one way or another and it is okay to pay $1,500 for their technology, it is a phone you should seriously think about.
